Louise Lund Labadie is a Shareholder with the firm and concentrates her practice in the areas of Estate Planning, Estate and Trust Administration, Probate Proceedings, and Tax Law. In addition, Ms. Labadie has developed a specialty in trust accounting, and estate and fiduciary taxation. Prior to being admitted to the Bar in 2004, Ms. Labadie was a paralegal at Berry Moorman for 15 years in the Estate Planning Group.
In her practice, Ms. Labadie assists clients in general corporate matters and business transactions, including by-sell agreements, with a focus on incorporating the clients' family business interests with their estate plans.
Ms. Labadie is a frequent speaker and has made several presentations to various business, government and community groups covering estate planning, probate, and tax matters.
Ms. Labadie received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in French Studies from Wayne State University in 2001, and her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Detroit-Mercy in 2004. She regularly attends the Notre Dame Tax & Estate Planning Institute.
Professional memberships include the Probate and Tax Sections of the State Bar of Michigan. Ms. Labadie was born and raised in Denmark, and is an active member of the Danish Sisterhood Lodge #125 in Metro Detroit. In addition to her native language, Danish, Ms. Labadie has excellent communication skills in French, German, Russian, Swedish and Norwegian.
