Twyford, Julie A.

Alan Turk joined Neal & Harwell as Of Counsel in 2007. His practice focuses primarily upon civil trial litigation and commercial transactions.

Mr. Turk is a graduate of George Washington University where he received a BA degree in 1976. He graduated from Vanderbilt University School of Law with a J.D. degree and from Vanderbilt University Owen Graduate School of Business with an MBA degree in 1980. Mr. Turk has been licensed to practice law in the State of Tennessee since October 1980 and was also admitted to the bar in the State of New York in November 1982.

Prior to joining Neal & Harwell, Mr. Turk was a solo practitioner for more than twenty-five years. He regularly appears in State and Federal Trial Courts, State and Federal Appellate Courts, including a 1992 appearance before the Supreme Court of the United States in Luther R. Campbell, et al. v. Acuff Rose Music, Inc. in which the United States Supreme Court unanimously reversed the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, extending the fair use doctrine to commercial parody.

Mr. Turk is a member of the Nashville and Tennessee Bar Associations.

Mr. Turk has been married to his wife Lisa for more than 26 years and they have two children, Jessica Ellen (23) and Benjamin Burrus (20). He is a member of the Temple Congregation Ohabai Sholom.
