Dennis LaBarre is a counselor to substantial businesses, focusing on M&A/takeovers and corporate governance matters, including executive compensation and risk oversight. He joined the Cleveland Office in 1968 and works in the Firm's New York and Cleveland Offices.
In addition to traditional corporate transactions, financings, and restructurings, Dennis has had extensive experience in cross-border mergers and acquisitions, coal mining project development, and the representation of financial institutions in transactional matters. Representative clients for which he has worked on substantial matters include Lincoln Electric, Murray Ohio, NACCO Industries, National City, Reliance Electric, the Seibu Saison Group, Timken, TRW, and Westinghouse Electric.
Dennis has served as coordinator of the firmwide corporate practice, regional managing partner of the Firm's New York/international region, and, for 22 years, Partner-in-Charge of the New York Office, during which time it became the largest office in the Firm. He currently serves, or previously has served, as a director of three NYSE-listed companies. He is a member of the ABA (Business Law Section) and has been listed in the corporate law section of The Best Lawyers in America.
Dennis is president of the Musical Arts Association board of trustees, the parent organization of The Cleveland Orchestra, and an honorary director of the PS 1 MoMA Contemporary Art Center.
