Todd M. Turner joined Sorling, Northrup, Hanna, Cullen & Cochran, Ltd. in 1992. He concentrates his practice in health care, banking, real estate, state sales and excise tax, and general commercial law. He has particular expertise in the drafting and analysis of legislation that impacts the banking and real estate industries. Mr. Turner represents hospitals and physician groups on a variety of issues, and is a member of the Illinois Association of Health Care Attorneys and the American Health Lawyers Association.
Mr. Turner received his undergraduate degree from Western Illinois University (B.A. History, summa cum laude, 1988) and received his Juris Doctor from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (magna cum laude, 1992). Before entering law school, he served as a judicial intern at the United States Supreme Court, where he worked for Chief Justice William Rehnquist and Justice Sandra Day O'Connor.
Mr. Turner has served as an adjunct faculty member at the University of Illinois at Springfield, where he taught real estate law. He has published articles in both the Illinois Banker and Illinois Realtor trade journals and coauthored supplements to "Advising Illinois Financial Institutions" and "Basic Real Estate Practice" published by the Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education. He is licensed to practice in Illinois and is admitted to the bar of the U.S. District Court for the Central District of Illinois and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.
