"It is very rewarding to guide clients through the legal process with dignity to achieve the most constructive resolution for them and their families."
Michael Tresidder understands the importance of each client's case. From the simplest to the most complex, their cases influence the manner in which clients will live their lives on a daily basis for years to come.
"I know that I am representing people at their most vulnerable, when they are unsure of their circumstances," says the newest associate in KoonsFuller's Southlake office. "It is very rewarding for me to put them at ease."
Mr. Tresidder graduated cum laude from Texas Tech University School of Law in 2002. In law school, he was a member of the Texas Tech Board of Barristers and participated on the school's national mock trial team. Before that, he earned a bachelor of arts in political science, graduating cum laude from the University of Texas at Arlington.
He is a Fort Worth attorney, having handled family law cases for a small civil trial law firm and then for his own solo practice, in the city of Fort Worth, before joining KoonsFuller.
At one point, he represented the owner of an international business, and Mr. Tresidder developed significant information about the business to determine how to divide the estate. Following extensive discovery, he settled the divorce without a trial.
He has represented numerous clients whose marital estates included domestic and international business interests and whose spouses have resisted fully disclosing the nature and existence of assets. He aggressively utilized discovery to identify and locate assets to be included in the marital estates and obtained better results for clients as a result of his efforts.
In another case, he represented a disabled woman, winning temporary spousal maintenance as well as statutory post-divorce maintenance and contractual post-divorce maintenance. The settlement Mr. Tresidder obtained will help to support her for the rest of her life despite her disabilities.
In 2009, he was listed as a Top Attorney in the November issue of Fort Worth, Texas Magazine. Mr. Tresidder is a member of the board of directors of the HALO Society, which helps enrich the lives of abused and neglected children in Tarrant County.
He is a member of the State Bar of Texas; Tarrant County Bar Association; Tarrant County Young Lawyers Association; and the Tarrant County Family Bar Association. He is licensed to practice in the US District Court for the Northern District of Texas.
Mr. Tresidder is proficient in Spanish and has represented numerous Spanish-speaking clients. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his daughter, running and engaging in other outdoor activities.
