Charles W. Kreines graduated from New York University and Fordham University School of Law. After an early career in corporate law, Mr. Kreines joined the firm in 1987. Mr Kreines concentrates in trial practice, including cable communication industry litigation, premises liability, automobile litigation, and construction accident cases.
He has tried high-exposure matters with superlative results. In a construction accident case he tried recently in Brooklyn, he represented the sole defendant in a catastrophic injury case to a verdict that was a fraction of the plaintiff's settlement demand. In an extraordinary case in Brooklyn, he achieved a defense verdict at trial involving a plaintiff who shattered his spine, lingered for a few years and died, allegedly due to the negligence of a cable installer who was said to have accidentally pushed him off a roof while he was showing him the cable connection. A member of that small group of lawyers who understood and exploited New York's anti-subrogation doctrine from its inception, he has obtained large scale risk transfers and legal fee recoveries. He is a member of the Defense Research Institute and the New York State and Brooklyn Bar Associations.
