Born in 1965. Mr. Toy attended Golden Gate University School of Law, graduating with a Juris Doctorate degree in 1993. Mr. Toy began his career in-house with several large insurance carriers. Representing the interests of both plaintiffs and defendants, he handled international and domestic transportation losses, multi-party products liability claims involving significant injuries, and construction defect matters. From this broad base of insurance-related litigation experience, Mr. Toy transitioned into a sophisticated international, commercial practice, where he represented primarily foreign individuals and entities operating in a variety of United States markets, handling commercial real estate leasing for both landlords and tenants, asset purchase transactions, corporate due diligence for a variety of deals, trademark prosecution and advice, liquor law compliance, and contract drafting for multiple industries, from equipment sales and leasing to employment agreements.
Mr. Toy obtained his Texas License in 2005, and his practice now focuses primarily on litigation, but he also handles some transactional matters. He represents clients in litigation of oil and gas operating agreements, and advises both established and start-up companies on operational matters. He continues to represent insurers, include excess carriers, as well as cargo underwriters. Mr. Toy obtained his New York license in 2009.
