Jay Traynham is a partner in the litigation section of Hall, Bloch, Garland & Meyer, LLP. Mr. Traynham has extensive experience in a wide range of civil actions in both federal and state court. The major emphasis of his practice has been in the field of insurance defense, Federal Employer's Liability Act defense and medical malpractice. However, Mr. Traynham also has a significant amount of experience litigating insurance coverage issues, construction disputes, contract disputes and the prosecution of personal injury actions. Mr. Traynham is admitted to practice in all Georgia trial level and appellate courts as well as the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Georgia, U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Georgia and Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals.
Mr. Traynham is a 1986 graduate of the University of Georgia and a 1989 graduate of the Walter F. George School of Law, Mercer University. He is a member of the Macon Bar Association, State Bar of Georgia (Chairman, Uniform Rules Committee, 1997-1998), and the Georgia Defense Lawyers Association.
Mr.Traynham is a member of the National Association of Railroad Trial Counsel and is a Barrister in the William Augustus Bootle Inn of Court. In 1987 and 1988, Mr. Traynham served on the Governor's Juvenile Justice Coordinating Council.
Mr. Traynham serves as an Adjunct Professor at the Walter F. George School of Law at Mercer University, teaching Advanced Litigation Drafting.
Mr. Traynham is married and has two children. He is a member of Christ Episcopal Church and is involved in numerous charitable and civic organizations.
