Mr. Tominberg began his career in Washington, D.C., in the United States Department of Justice, Honor Law Program, working in the Office of the General Counsel of the Immigration and Naturalization Service. Upon his return to Chicago, he continued to serve with the Department of Justice and subsequently transferred to the staff of the National Labor Relations Board where he served as a trial attorney for four years. In 1979, Mr. Tominberg joined the predecessor firm to Laner, Muchin, Dombrow, Becker, Levin and Tominberg, Ltd. where he became a partner in 1982 and a senior named partner in 1990. Mr. Tominberg has served on the Faculty of the Chicago-Kent College of law Public Sector Labor Relations Conference, Loyola University EEOC Advisory Committee, and is a permanent Member of the Institute for Law in the Workplace. Mr. Tominberg has been counsel to publicly and privately owned corporations, including major hotel chains, Fortune 500 companies, and numerous Employer Associations. Mr. Tominberg has also served as Special Corporation Counsel for the City of Chicago, Special States Attorney for Kane County, Labor Counsel to the 16th Judicial Circuit and labor advisor to the State of Illinois, Kane County, DeKalb County, Homewood, Palos Hills, Thornton, Buffalo Grove, Mt. Prospect, and many others. Mr. Tominberg has also argued successfully before the Illinois Supreme Court.
Mr. Tominberg has been named one of the Leading Lawyers in Illinois, based on a statewide survey of lawyers. Leading Lawyers comprise less than 5% of all lawyers in the state. Mr. Tominberg has also been named as one of the “Best Lawyers in America” and an Illinois “Super Lawyer.”
