Philip J. Toohey is a partner in the law firm. His practice includes residential and commercial real estate, banking, business transactions, restaurant formation, business formation, land use, and zoning. Mr. Toohey's representation includes appearing before land use commissions in various towns such as New Canaan, Darien, and Wilton. A primary area of his practice includes residential real estate, including new construction transactions for both builders and consumer purchasers. Mr. Toohey was formerly employed as general counsel to bbc Corporation, a real estate development company where he was responsible for all of the company's legal matters, including its zoning, contract, banking and construction matters.
Mr. Toohey graduated from Eastern Connecticut State University with a B.S. in accounting. He received his Juris Doctor from University of Bridgeport School of Law in 1988 where he served as Managing Editor of the Law Review.
Mr. Toohey is admitted to practice in Connecticut and is a member of the Stamford/Norwalk Regional Bar. Mr. Toohey is a member of the New Canaan Lions Club, a past president of the Huntington Shelton Exchange Club, and past president and Board Member of Bronson Country Club. Currently, he volunteers as the Assistant Athletic Director at St. Lawrence School where he is also a coach for the varsity boys' basketball and baseball teams.
