Amy Tingley's litigation practice focuses on commercial contracts, business torts, construction landlord litigation, government investigations and white collar defense, and appeals. Ms. Tingley has successfully handled numerous matters for the firm's construction and banking clients, as well as its commercial landlords. In addition, she has represented the firm's business clients in the favorable resolution of shareholder disputes, professional malpractice claims, employment and labor disputes, and other business tort and contract claims. Ms. Tingley also represents individual professionals during investigations by administrative agencies such as the Department of Financial Regulation and the Securities and Exchange Commission, in addition to administrative or criminal proceedings. She has successfully resolved matters for the firm's clients in both state and federal court, as well as in mediation and arbitration. Ms. Tingley is rated "AV," the highest rating achievable for legal ability and ethics by the Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory, which is the facilitator of the peer review process that rates attorneys. Significant Matters
Ms. Tingley's recent litigation matters include the successful representation of a tax shelter investor in a professional malpractice action against a major accounting firm, investment advisor, and law firm; resolution of a multi-county construction dispute against a general contractor and its sureties involving numerous projects; dismissal of felony charges against a public relations consultant accused of bribing a public official; litigating numerous civil disputes involving a national pharmacy, as well as successfully defending its executives during a criminal action.
Community Involvement
Ms. Tingley recently completed her term as the Chair of one of The Florida Bar's Grievance Committees for the Ninth Judicial Circuit. The Grievance Committee participates in the regulation of the professional conduct of attorneys. She also lectures on various legal topics to attorneys and other professionals as a speaker at legal education seminars. She is a member of the Orange County Bar Association and has represented dependent and abused children through the Orange County Legal Aid Society's Guardian Ad Litem Program. As a member of the Orlando Chapter of Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW), Ms. Tingley served on the Committee for CREW Careers to encourage female high school students to become interested in careers in real estate.
