Jeff Kolb is the creator of estate planning software and the author of four books and over forty articles related to estate planning and administration. The software, Indiana Estate Planning System, was introduced in 2000 by the Indiana Continuing Legal Education Forum. Mr. Kolb also authored the fifth volume of Henry's Indiana Probate Law and Practice for Michie which was published in 1990. He is a member of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel and the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys. He served on the State of Indiana's Probate Code Study Commission.
His professional memberships include the Indiana State Bar Association where he served on the Board of Governors and chaired the Probate Trust and Real Property Section. He is the editor of the Probate Trust and Real Property Section newsletter for over twenty years. He is also the chair of the Probate Review Committee which is instrumental in drafting laws of the State of Indiana. He is active in the Indiana Bar Foundation where he is a fellow and serves on the Board of Directors. He was president of the organization in years 2000 to 2002. He served on the Indiana Continuing Legal Education Forum Board of Directors since 1997.
He is also a member of the Illinois State Bar Association and the American Bar Association where he has been active in Real Property, Probate and Trust Section and the General Practice Section.
His local activities include the Vincennes Community School Corporation, YMCA, Vincennes Education Foundation, Wabash Valley Estate Planning Council, Knox County United Way, and Vincennes Civitan Club, all of which he has served as president and board member. He also served on the board of the Knox County Community Foundation, Lincoln High School Academic Society, Old Town Players, Inc., Old Northwest Corporation, and Fort Knox II Committee. He is a member of the St. James Episcopal Church where he served on the vestry and as Senior Warden on two separate occasions.
