Allyson K. Thompson was raised on the Big Island of Hawaii and attended the University of Hawaii, where she received her B.A. in Political Science, and a minor in English. While an undergraduate student, Ms. Thompson clerked for the Prosecutor's Office on the Big Island.
In 2004, Ms. Thompson earned her Juris Doctorate from Lincoln Law in Sacramento, receiving honors for her oral arguments in Moot Court. Ms. Thompson brings five years of legislative experience to Kring & Chung, having worked for the Judicial Council's Office of Governmental Affairs, the California Redevelopment Association, and as a volunteer for Assemblyman Darrell Steinberg.
In January of 2005, Ms. Thompson joined Kring & Chung. Her practice consists of employment and labor law issues, including sexual harassment, discrimination, wage and hour litigation, and advises employers on how to avoid employment related litigation. Ms. Thompson has lectured to numerous groups on various labor and employment issues such as effective strategy in preparing employee handbooks and company policies, updates as to legislative changes to State and Federal labor laws and prevention of sexual harassment in the workplace.
Ms. Thompson is a member of the California State Bar Association, the Orange County Bar Association, and is active with various organizations within Orange County, CA. Ms. Thompson is an active member of the Society of Human Resources Management ("SHRM") and is currently serving as the Advocacy Captain for the 48th Congressional District on behalf of SHRM. Ms. Thompson is also an active member of the Orange County Women Lawyers Association and is currently serving on their Board of Directors.
