Give Christy a puzzle to solve and she’s a woman on a mission, ferociously intent on finding the solution.

So what do you do with a talent like this?  The obvious answer:   Become the Editor of the New York Times Crossword Puzzle page.
 
Unfortunately, that job was taken so the next obvious choice was Willamette University College of Law in Oregon where she obtained a law degree.

After a lot of soul searching and with law degree in hand, Christy chose downtown Chandler as the place to open her practice.  In fact, she loves Chandler so much that she got married at the San Marcos, had her reception downtown and her rehearsal at the Chandler Art Gallery. At one point, she was Vice Chair of the Chandler Center for the Arts Board.

Today, Christy’s practice is focused on bankruptcy, personal injury and divorce. And she gets to put those puzzle-solving skills to work every day as she builds her cases.  Some of her more unfortunate colleagues will reluctantly tell you she’s still very good at it.
Ask her and she’ll tell you her business philosophy is ridiculously simple.  Be there for the client every step of the way before, during and after the resolution of the case.  Once you hire Christy and her team, you’ve got a lawyer for life.

Christy grew up in Reno, Nevada and attended the University of Nevada/Reno where she received 2 bachelor’s degrees; one in political science and one in English.  Instead of an internship at her college paper, she landed a job as a cub reporter for the Territorial Enterprise in Virginia City, Nevada, the same paper where American literary legend Samuel Clemens once worked.  (And where Pa Cartwright and the boys allegedly hung out).  While her school newspaper’s reporters were interviewing football coaches, Christy was interviewing Joe Conforte and the ladies of the notorious Bunny Ranch as they discussed their legal rights.
 
Christy and her husband both share a passion for travel. She’s followed the same trail in Petra made infamous by Indiana Jones.  She’s marveled at the majesty of the Pyramids in Egypt and the great wall in Beijing and hopped aboard the Star Ferry in Hong Kong.  She’s traversed the landscape of Mexico, Guatemala and Belize.  And she didn’t let the end of a peace treaty or the need for a police escort, keep her from visiting Israel.

Volunteerism plays an active role in Christy’s personal life.  She donates her time to Lost Our Home Pet Foundation, an organization that focuses on animals left in foreclosed homes.  She readily admits to having a weakness for animals, especially cats.

With a drive to be a better public speaker, Christy is taking advanced trial classes to develop her legal presentation skills.  She is also an avid book collector and yes, there are a few puzzle books in her collection.

Attorney Christy Thompson came to Phoenix from Nevada. She earned her law degree from Willamette University College of Law in Oregon and holds two bachelor’s degrees in political science and English from the University of Nevada Reno. Her primary areas of practice are personal injury and bankruptcy.
