Stephen M. Thacker joined Goldberg Weisman Cairo in 1988 where he is now a partner. Born and raised in Chicago, he attended St. Ignatius High School, Western Illinois University and DePaul University College of Law. Steve is in charge of the general practice division of the firm.
Since his father and grandfather were union carpenters, Steve brings a unique understanding of the wide range of issues that often arise for our tradesmen clients. It is important to have an attorney on staff that can represent clients in the various probate, real estate, social security disability and family law matters that go hand in hand with injury cases. In this era of specialization it is rare that a law firm can offer clients the ability to have all of their legal matters taken care of by the same law firm. This also assures clients that every injury case can be evaluated while keeping in mind all of the inter-related legal issues.
Steve has achieved successful results in child custody cases, property disputes, medical bill collection cases, real estate disputes, insurance coverage issues, disability denials, contract disputes and corporate transaction matters. He also represents clients in divorce, criminal, DUI, traffic, bankruptcy, real estate transactions and social security matters.
Steve has been licensed to practice law in the State of Illinois since 1982 and is admitted to practice in the Federal District Court for the Northern and Southern Districts of Illinois. He is admitted to practice in the United States 7th Circuit Court of Appeals. Steve is on the plan commission for his village. He is married with four college age children.
