Neal M. Thatcher is a 2003 magna cum laude graduate of East Stroudsburg University where he earned Bachelors of Arts degrees in History and Political Science.  During his time at East Stroudsburg University, Mr. Thatcher received multiple academic awards, including the Association of Pennsylvania State College and University Faculties (APSCUF) Honors Award and the William D. McFadden Scholarship Award. 

In addition, Mr. Thatcher is a 2006 magna cum laude graduate of Widener University School of Law where he again attained academic distinction earning various Certificates of Achievement most notably in the areas of Criminal Law and Criminal Procedure. 

After graduation, Mr. Thatcher served as a law clerk to the Honorable Michael J. Barrasse of the Lackawanna Court of Common Pleas and as an Assistant Public Defender in the Lackawanna County Public Defender's Office. 

While serving in the capacity of a judicial law clerk, Mr. Thatcher was responsible for legal research and drafting legal opinions in both Criminal and Civil matters as well as managing the Criminal trial docket.  Mr. Thatcher also served as a legal liaison to all of the Lackawanna County Specialty Courts, including Treatment Court, D.U.I. Court, and Mental Health Court. 

During his tenure in the Lackawanna County Public Defender's Office, Mr. Thatcher represented hundreds of Defendants in criminal cases involving a wide variety of misdemeanor and felony offenses.  Mr. Thatcher has also been contracted by numerous area law firms to litigate both complex criminal and civil matters in state and federal courts, including Federal Circuit Court of Appeals appellate work.  Mr. Thatcher's experience also includes representing individuals in a vast number of residential real estate transactions.  These experiences have enabled Mr. Thatcher to gain a broad and diverse knowledge of several areas of the law and develop highly successful litigation techniques for his clients.

In September 2009, Mr. Thatcher joined Wright & Reihner.  At Wright & Reihner, Mr. Thatcher engages in both criminal and civil practice in State and Federal Courts.  Mr. Thatcher focuses his practice on all areas of criminal defense, including driving under the influence (D.U.I.) defense, criminal record expungements, grand jury investigations, and white collar criminal defense. Mr. Thatcher's practice also includes complex commercial and business litigation, debt collection, wills and estates, civil rights, real estate transactions and litigation, and personal injury matters.

Mr. Thatcher is a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association and Lackawanna County Bar Association.
