Mark focuses a portion of his practice on the defense of professionals and business arising from commercial disputes. In this capacity, Mark has defended attorneys, accountants, directors/officers, insurance agents, and registered representatives in professional liability claims brought against them. He also defends construction professionals (engineers, architects, surveyors, etc.) in claims arising from construction defect claims. Mark is also experienced in the defense of insurance companies involved in insurance coverage disputes, as well as in the representation of insurance companies in the preparation of coverage opinions. He has developed a significant amount of experience in the defense of insurance companies arising from first party property claims submitted for sinkhole activity.
As a part of Mark’s representation of corporate clients in first party matters, he has defended employment claims brought for racial and sexual discrimination before the EEOC, where he was successful in having the EEOC rule in favor of these clients. In addition, Mark has drafted employment agreements and defended cases involving the violation of covenants not to compete. These cases have ranged from individual claims involving single employees to complex commercial lawsuits arising from tortuous interference.
In 2003 Mark earned his J.D. from the Loyola University School of Law. While at Loyola, Mark served as a teaching assistant for Legal Research and Writing as well as Moot Court. He was a member of Moot Court and was selected as a brief writer/oralist on the Fall 2002 Competition Team in Health Law. Upon graduation, Mark became employed as an associate in the Commercial Litigation/Professional Liability department for a law firm in New Orleans, Louisiana.
