The firm specializes in rating medical reports under the Fourth, Fifth and Sixth Editions of the AMA Guides to the Evaluation of Permanent Impairment.
Mr. Kingdon is available for doctor depositions, expert witness appearances, cross examinations of D.E.U. raters, training seminars and appearances at settlement conferences and rating conferences, and trials.
Kenneth Kingdon is licensed to practice law in California and New York, and is a Certified Specialist in Workers Compensation by the State Bar of California. He received his license as a Certified Public Accountant in New York before relocating to California. He earned a J.D. from New York Law School and an LL.M. in Taxation from the University of San Diego.
He began his workers compensation career representing injured workers, and subsequently worked as a claims examiner for Sedgwick CMS where he earned his SIP certificate. He has worked as a defense attorney for Floyd, Skeren & Kelly and for the Law Offices of Thomas Maupin. Mr. Kingdon was named as one of California's "Super Lawyers" in workers compensation in 2005. He has also worked as a Judge Pro Tem for the Workers Compensation Appeals Board.
Mr. Kingdon was a consultant to the American Medical Association for their joint continuing education program with the American Bar Association on the Sixth Edition of the AMA Guides to the Evaluation of Permanent Impairment, the Sixth Edition workbooks, and was a reviewer for the Sixth Edition.
He is the author of the AMA publication, A Medical-Legal Companion to the AMA Guides, Using the Guides as Intended, and Controversies in California Workers Compensation Rating. He is also he publisher and editor of the Kingdon Rating Newsletter, and is frequent lecturer on disability rating issues.
