Carolyn Tan was born in Ontario, Canada, and grew up in Arcadia, California. She graduated from UCLA in 2003 with a double major in English and psychology. Prior to law school, she taught at-risk youth in Pasadena and worked as an Assistant Editor at WeddingChannel.com. She received her Juris Doctor from Loyola Law School, Los Angeles in 2009 and was admitted to practice in California in 2010.
At Loyola, Ms. Tan interned at the Center for Conflict Resolution and was part of the inaugural Youth Justice Education Clinic at the Center for Juvenile Law and Policy. Her other activities include serving as Production Editor on the Loyola International and Comparative Law Review, as well as a Senior Editor on the Los Angeles Public Interest Law Journal, and as a Mentor in Loyola’s Stephen O’Neil Trial Advocacy Mentoring Program. During law school, she also spent a summer studying international arbitration and international contract law in Bologna, Italy. She has externed for the Honorable Audrey B. Collins, the Honorable Stephen J. Hillman, and the Honorable Jeffrey S. White.
Ms. Tan began practicing at the firm in 2010 and assists in the areas of catastrophic injury, medical malpractice, construction defects, products liability, and business and public entity cases.
Ms. Tan is a member of the Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles, Consumer Attorneys of California, Los Angeles Bar Association, and Pasadena Bar Association. In her free time, you can find her triathlon training, league bowling, and playing trivia.
