Doris L. Sweetin, Owner and President of Sweetin Law Group, has been twice recognized in Super Lawyers since founding the firm (2011 and 2012). She also has the Mark of Distinction from A.M. Best Recommended Insurance Attorneys. She concentrates her practice in insurance-related litigation, trial and appellate practice, including general liability, products, premises, auto, workers’ compensation and construction, as well as in business and corporate law. Her business and personal philosophies, and especially her passion for client service, derive from years of retail management, training, and sales. These principles drive her thirst for both best practices and emerging thinking from her peers in other businesses.
Doris, who practices in both Indiana and Ohio, has successfully argued before the Court of Appeals in Ohio, as well as before the Supreme Court of Indiana. She is admitted to the Ohio and Indiana Bars, the Federal District Courts of both Ohio and Indiana and the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals. She is an active member of the Indiana State Bar Association and the Indianapolis Bar Association. She is currently serving her second three-year term on the Defense Trial Counsel of Indiana’s (DTCI) Board of Editors for the Indiana Civil Litigation Review and also recently served on its Board of Directors. Doris is also very active in the Defense Research Institute (DRI), including its Trial Tactics Committee, and served as Chair for its 2010 national Damages Seminar.
She is a noted speaker and author on various litigation-related topics and again presented this past June at NBI’s Premises Liability Case Preparation and Trial seminar for the fifth straight year. Doris is recognized in Continental Who’s Who and as a Top Executive by Portfolio.com. Doris graduated cum laude from Wichita State University in 1988 and the University of Cincinnati College of Law in 1995.
