Amy Sylvester joined the firm in 1992 after practicing with Morrison, Mahoney & Miller in Boston, Massachusetts. Admitted to practice in Vermont and Massachusetts, Amy has represented clients in federal and state courts across Vermont, and before the Vermont Supreme Court. She also regularly represents clients before mediators and arbitrators. Amy concentrates her practice in the prosecution of personal injury claims, and has extensive experience litigating automobile liability, ski area liability, products liability, and medical malpractice claims. In late December 2003 she, with partners Mike Brow and Alan Sylvester, obtained a federal court jury verdict of $2,522,193.00 in a Wrongful Death case. This was the largest jury award ever obtained in the state in a Wrongful Death case.
Amy is a member of the Vermont Trial Lawyers Association, and served on its Board of Governors from 1997-2000. She is also a member of the American Trial Lawyers Association, American Bar Association and Vermont Bar Association. She is admitted to practice in Vermont (1992), Massachusetts (1990), U.S. District Court, District of Vermont (1993), U.S. District Court, District of Massachusetts (1991), and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit (1992).
Amy graduated from George Washington University Law School in 1990, and has an undergraduate degree (B.A.) from Middlebury College, cum laude, 1987.
