Winiviere G. Sy ("Wini") is a founding partner of the Law Office of David P. Schwarz. Born in Manila, Philippines, she came to the United States at age four and was raised in the San Fernando Valley.
She obtained her Bachelor of Science Degree in Physiological Science from the University of California, Los Angeles and her Juris Doctorate from Whittier Law School, where she as a member of the Law Review and had her article published in the law journal.
Prior to starting her own practice, she worked for two prominent family law firms in Orange County and Los Angeles County, respectively. She also externed for The Honorable Commissioner Richard G. Vogl, who presently presides at Lamoreaux Justice Center in the City of Orange. Presently, Ms. Sy handles all aspects of family law litigation including dissolution of marriage, annulments, child custody and visitation, child support, spousal support, domestic violence, paternity matters, property division, prenuptial agreements and postnuptial agreements. Further, she is proficient in the use of Dissomaster, Propetizer and Executioner.
Ms. Sy is presently a member of the Los Angeles County Bar Association and Orange County Bar Association. In 2009 and 2010, Ms. Sy was named a Super Lawyer Southern California Rising Star.
Ms. Sy is also dedicated to giving back to the community. While attending law school, she was awarded a Public Interest Law Foundation Summer Grant, with which she chose to clerk at Protection and Advocacy, Inc., a public interest law firm that advocates for the rights of individuals with developmental disabilities. In addition, while pursuing her undergraduate degree, Ms. Sy served as a teaching assistant at UCLA and as a literacy tutor and mentor at Aman, Inc. Science and Discovery Learning Center in LaBrea, where she taught children language, math and science skills.
During her free time, Ms. Sy is an avid hot yoga enthusiast and enjoys traveling the world.
