Attorney Daniel H. Swift was born in Manchester, Iowa on October 10, 1954 to Mary L. Swift (Lucey) and John Q. Swift. He has six brothers and three sisters and attended St. Marys School in Manchester, Iowa through and including the eighth grade. Attorney Swift attended West Delaware High School and graduated in 1973. He attended Wartburg College in Waverley Iowa from 1973 through 1977, and graduated from Wartburg College in 1977 with a BA in Business Administration and Political Science. While a student at Wartburg, he participated in Football and Wrestling and was elected Captain of the Wrestling and Football teams by his teammates in his senior year at Wartburg. Mr. Swift attended Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska from 1977 through 1980 and graduated from Creighton University in 1980 with a J.D. He started his law practice with his father in Manchester, Iowa in 1980. His grandfather, Hubert J. Swift, started the firm in Manchester in 1923. His father, John Q. Swift joined the practice in 1950. Hubert died in 1970. Mr. Swift's Father died in 2009. While in Manchester, Iowa, Mr. Swift has been an elected member of the Manchester City Council and an elected member of the West Delaware School District Board of Directors. He also serves on the Board of Directors of Community Savings Bank. He was a Member of the Manchester Volunteer Fire Department and also a member of the Manchester Lions Club and the Waterloo Elks Club. Mr. Swift married his wife Kathleen J. Swift (Harbaugh) in 1984. They have three adult children, Robert, Theodore and Claire.
