JOHN L. SWARTZ
John L. Swartz, one of the senior members of the GWC&B team, brings over 25 years of legal experience to bear on his clients' legal issues. His practice includes bankruptcy, creditors' rights, real estate, corporate and municipal law.
John joined the firm as an associate in 1977, and became a partner in 1983. Since 1992, John' practice has included service as a member of the standing panel of bankruptcy trustees for Chapter 7 cases filed in the Springfield division of the United States Bankruptcy Court, where he has handled over 4000 cases as trustee. He has written a number of articles on bankruptcy law and has spoken to civic and business groups regarding pending bankruptcy matters.
John is a member of the Rotary Club of Springfield, having held several offices in the club, including president. He has served as president of the Board of Directors of the Hope School, a school for children who have multiple handicaps. He has served on the board of the Illinois Symphony Orchestra and a number of other civic and charitable organizations.
