Josh is originally from Greenville, South Carolina. After graduating from Clemson University, he obtained his law degree from the University of South Carolina.
After graduating from law school, Josh immediately began defending criminal cases in a small law firm in Columbia, successfully defending his first trial within weeks of being sworn in to the South Carolina Bar. Within a few months of becoming a lawyer, Josh had handled numerous jury trials and major felony cases, as well as complex civil cases.
During his career, Josh has handled jury trials in a variety of magistrate offenses. He has handled state trials involving armed robbery, criminal sexual conduct, murder and a wide range of other violent crimes. Josh has also represented clients in federal jury trials on cases involving drugs, firearms, armed robbery, fraud and murder-for-hire.
Josh has handled a significant number of appeals on both the state and federal level and has argued in front of the South Carolina Supreme Court and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.
In addition to his criminal practice, Josh has represented clients in civil cases ranging from the defense of attorney malpractice to bad faith insurance claims, as well as cases in front of the South Carolina Administrative Law Court.
