Gary W. Katz, a seasoned trial lawyer, is Of Counsel to Yankwitt & McGuire, LLP. Gary regularly provides trial strategy on all litigations, and advises on tax and bankruptcy matters.
Gary graduated cum laude from Harvard Law School, after which he served as a federal law clerk to Judge Richard G. Stearns (D. Mass). Thereafter, Gary was an Assistant District Attorney in Massachusetts where he was lead counsel in more than thirty jury trials. After working as a prosecutor, Gary worked at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP where he represented debtors in complex restructuring transactions. Gary then served as the Chief Legal Officer and Managing Director of Delaware Street Capital, where he led the rescue financing and turn-around of a variety of middle market companies. Thereafter, Gary worked as a Managing Director of Archer Capital Management.
Drawing on his extensive trial experience and corporate business knowledge, Gary provides advice on a wide range of topics, including trial strategy in the firm's active litigations and bankruptcy advice and strategy on the firm's business transaction litigations.
From 1998-1999, Gary served as a law clerk to the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Israel. He received a B.A. magna cum laude, phi beta kappa, from Dartmouth College.
Gary is admitted to practice in New York and Massachusetts. Gary lives in White Plains, New York with his wife and four children.
