Sanjiv Kapur practices in the area of general US and international corporate and commercial law. He has extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions and in structuring joint ventures in the United States, Latin America, Europe, and Asia.
Recent representative transactions include: Harris Corporation's purchase of Tyco Electronics' worldwide private mobile radio business for $675 million; the sale of Hand Held Product Corporation, a data collection and communications company, to Honeywell International for approximately $390 million; Parker Hannifin's tender offer valued at $260 million for Scan Subsea, a publicly traded Norwegian company engaged in the manufacture of cables and mooring lines for the offshore energy industry; Bayer CropScience's acquisition of Stoneville Pedigreed Seed Company, a cotton seed company, from Monsanto for $310 million; and Bayer Pharmaceutical's strategic alliance in the primary care pharmaceutical business (for products such as Cipro, Avelox, and Levitra) with Schering Corporation in the United States and co-promotion agreement with respect to Ezetimibe (Zetia) in Japan.
Sanjiv is fluent in Spanish, German, French, Portuguese, and Hindi and has written extensively on corporate law topics. He is a past president of The City Club of Cleveland and serves on the board of trustees of the Cuyahoga County Public Library System, Cleveland Scholarship Program, and CIPUSA. He is a member of the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association, the Greater Cleveland International Law Group, and the Rheinischer Internationaler Juristenverein.
