KRISTINE S. KARILA, Attorney-At-Law has been practicing law in the State of California since 1992.   Ms. Karila graduated cum laude from  University of Utah in 1987 where she earned dual degrees in Psychology and Sociology.   Ms. Karila graduated from University of San Diego School of Law in 1992 where she held the prestigious position of Editor-In-Chief of Law Review from 1991-1992.   She earned scholarships for academic and charitable accomplishments, including One of Top Five Students with Highest GPA, Highest grades in classes of Evidence, Civil Procedure and Constitutional Law. 

Ms. Karila specializes in employment laws of California and the Federal Government.   She also practices business litigation.   She has represented many individual or groups of employees or former employees regarding claims of employment law violations against their employers.   Ms. Karila's success rate for her clients is outstanding.   She has been successful in winning trials, winning Summary Judgment motions (judge rules in client's favor before a trial and without a trial) and has been able to settle all cases for clients whose cases could be resolved in a reasonable manner without a trial.   In addition, she has represented many businesses as a legal consultant regarding employment laws, defense of litigation against them, investigation of sexual harassment complaints, drafting employment manuals, written policies, etc.  

Ms. Karila speaks directly with clients and potential clients instead of having a secretary, paralegal or another attorney do so.   She is of the philosophy that when a person calls an attorney, he or she wants to speak directly to an attorney, not someone who will just take a message.   She also answers her own telephone so that clients can speak directly to her without having to waste time announcing their call to a receptionist and then having to wait for the call to be re-directed.   She is extremely prompt in returning telephone calls and emails.  

Ms. Karila was a member of the Board of Directors of Second Chance Pet Adoptions from 2004 - 2008 and volunteers time and services to non-profit animal rescue organizations.
