Ms. Kachmar is a partner in the Litigation Department and Chair of the Workers' Compensation Practice Group. She practices exclusively in the area of workers' compensation defense. Ms. Kachmar works closely with insurance carriers, third party administrators, brokers and employers in not only defending workers' compensation cases, but in regard to loss prevention, safety, employment, union and other issues which relate to workers' compensation. She litigates workers' compensation matters in all jurisdictions of Pennsylvania, including all appellate jurisdictions.
Ms. Kachmar received her B.A., cum laude, from Ursinus College in 1982 and her J.D. from the Dickinson School of Law in 1985. Licensed to practice in Pennsylvania, Ms. Kachmar is admitted to appear before the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. She is a member of the Workers' Compensation Section of the Pennsylvania Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the Berks County Bar Association, the Lehigh County Bar Association, the Pennsylvania Defense Institute and the Pennsylvania Self-Insurer's Association. Ms. Kachmar is a former Board member of the Pennsylvania Defense Institute and Kids Chance. Ms. Kachmar has written numerous articles on a variety of workers' compensation topics. She also frequently speaks at seminars relating to workers' compensation issues. Ms. Kachmar was selected in a survey of her peers as a Pennsylvania "Super Lawyer" by Law & Politics magazine in 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011, in 2008, 2009 and 2010, she was selected for inclusion in the Corporate Counsel Edition of Super Lawyers and in 2011 she was named one of the Top 50 Women Attorneys in Pennsylvania.
