Born and raised in South Africa, I personally experienced the tragedy of having no rights and no voice in matters that directly affected my life and family. I realized that there is an overwhelming need in our society for education and justice, so I decided to pursue a career with a greater emphasis on people and families.
My experience in the family law arena began in 2006 when I became a Guardian Ad Litem in Broward Co. for the 17th Judicial Circuit. I represented many children in the court system while working closely with parents, attorneys and prosecutors to bring stability and permanency. This led me to enroll at the Shepard Broad Law Center of Nova Southeastern University where I received a Doctorate of Law (JD) degree. During law school I had the opportunity to work as an intern for Coast to Coast Legal Aid, followed by an internship with the City Prosecutors Office of Fort Lauderdale.
In addition to my prior legal experience, I have a background in business. Having worked for several years as a real estate closer and examiner and finally growing into the business brokerage business.
Today, I am a professor at Broward College and Everest University where I teach various Associate and Bachelor's level classes such as, Family law, Real Estate, Contracts, Legal Technology and Probate.
My legal experience and involvement in the community has given me a deeper understanding of the financial and emotional toll that litigation has on people and their families and for this reason I opened this law firm. Characteristics of my practice are a high level of individual client attention and communication, and the highest standard of professionalism and competence. I'm committed to helping my clients mediate their situations and move forward with their lives in a constructive manner.
