Boyd Springer has broad experience in the water/energy/public utility area. His experience includes the representation of water and energy companies in connection with mergers and acquisition transactions; regulatory and environmental counseling and litigation; takeover defense; acquisition of generating plant and other properties; merchant generating plant construction; electric interconnection, coordination, and transmission agreements; and agreements for service to water, wastewater, and electric and gas wholesale and industrial customers. He has extensive experience in water and energy rate proceedings, merger and acquisition approvals, regulatory investigations, and other matters before state commissions and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission; appellate court proceedings, including judicial review of regulatory agency decisions; and defense of condemnation and other takeover actions.

Boyd is a member of The Chicago Bar Association (Public Utilities Committee), the Illinois State Bar Association (chair, Utilities and Transportation Section Council, 2002-2003), and the National Association of Water Companies (Law Committee). Boyd is admitted to the General Bar and to the Trial Bar of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
