David's passion for advocacy and the law began on "Career Day" when two attorneys came to his fifth grade class at an inner-city elementary school in Kansas City, Missouri. It was then that he became absolutely enchanted by the prospect of becoming a lawyer. Soon after, in that same fifth grade class, he participated in a mock debate on a popular, hotbed issue in which he had to craft constructive arguments both in affirmation and negation. This zeal for argumentation propelled him into a lifelong pursuit to become a lawyer. While in high school and college, David excelled in the areas of public speaking, debate, forensics, and mock trial, achieving numerous awards and recognition, both on the state and national level. Having graduated from an academically rigorous university, David continued in his lifelong goal to practice law and attended the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Law. While in law school, he received several recognitions in mock trial competitions, and served on the Board of Advocates, directing the 1L Moot Court competition. Upon graduation, David had the privilege of working alongside a trial judge in Kansas City as her law clerk. Having observed numerous civil and criminal jury trials he knew for certain that he wanted to be a trial lawyer, advocating for and seeking justice for those who have been wronged and injured. After his clerkship, he went on to become legal counsel for the Missouri Department of Revenue in their transportation-DWI unit, obtaining justice against drunk drivers in numerous trials and administrative hearings. That position has brought him to work tirelessly to represent injured victims of drunk drivers, as well as numerous other injured victims, at the Law Offices of Steve Sanders. David knows that justice most often does not come casually or with little effort, but with diligent determination and a focused resolve to represent the interests of injured victims so that they may be fully compensated and move forward with their lives. And ever since that fifth-grade experience on "Career Day," he has not turned back in becoming an aggressive and effective attorney.
