Charles Speth is a counsel in the Litigation/Controversy Department, and a member of the Business Trial Group. He joined the firm in 2006.
Practice
Mr. Speth focuses his practice on complex civil litigation and government enforcement matters. Mr. Speth has a broad array of civil litigation experience, having participated in the defense or prosecution of individual or class claims involving federal and state securities laws, the Sherman Act, consumer protection and unfair competition statutes, a state RICO statute, director and officer indemnification, breach of contract, unjust enrichment, copyright, trade secret and the Federal Tort Claims Act. Mr. Speth has also represented both corporations and individuals in connection with investigations and enforcement matters conducted by the Department of Justice and the Securities and Exchange Commission. In addition, Mr. Speth has helped to advise clients, including a national bank and a leading accounting firm, on discrete regulatory matters.
While in law school, Mr. Speth spent a summer in the Criminal Division of the US Department of Justice. Mr. Speth also participated in Georgetown’s Institute for Public Representation, where he worked on civil rights and Freedom of Information Act litigation.
