Chuck is a shareholder in the firm of Briggs and Morgan, Professional Association. He is the head of the firm's Business Law Section. He represents public and privately held companies and practices principally in the areas of:
Chuck’s clients represent a cross section of industries, including manufacturing, food and beverage distribution, health care services, insurance, medical devices, banking and financial services, software design and licensing, and internet services. He has represented public and privately held companies in stock and asset acquisitions throughout the world. Chuck’s significant international experience has included transactions in Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, France, Jamaica, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, Ukraine, and the United Kingdom. Chuck has overseen transactions with purchase prices ranging from less than $100,000 to $750 million. These transactions have included tax-free reorganizations, joint ventures, payment structures using earnouts, mezzanine debt financing and purchases through Employee Stock Ownership Plans (ESOPs).
Chuck is a member of the Minnesota and Wisconsin State Bar associations. He is an event chair for the Minnesota chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and formerly served on the board of directors for the Minnesota Children’s Museum. Chuck has been named a “Rising Star” by Minnesota Law & Politics.
Prior to joining Briggs, Chuck was an attorney with a Wisconsin law firm focusing his practice in business and corporate transactions. He also served as senior staff corporate accountant for a major railroad corporation, and as an auditor with a national public accounting firm. Born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Chuck received his B.A., in accounting, magna cum laude from St. John’s University and received his law degree from Duke University School of Law. He joined Briggs in 1997.
