Janine A. Sperandeo is an attorney at Robinson Calcagnie Robinson Shapiro Davis, Inc., where she works primarily in the firm's mass tort and pharmaceutical litigation divisions and devotes most of her practice to representing children born with birth defects whose mothers took antidepressants during pregnancy. She particularly enjoys the scientific and medical issues related to her pharmaceutical practice. Prior to joining the firm in 2008, Ms. Sperandeo worked on a broad range of complex litigation matters with a prominent regional firm in Los Angeles specializing in securities fraud class action, California unfair business practice class action and pharmaceutical mass tort litigation, including cases involving injuries relating to the discontinuation of antidepressants.
Ms. Sperandeo received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of California, San Diego with a major in General Biology, focusing on pre-medical requirements. Following her undergraduate studies, she went on to attend Loyola Law School in Los Angeles and was a recipient of a Loyola Law Scholarship. While at Loyola, she earned a First Honors Award in Biotechnology Law for her thesis, "Constitutional Implications of Genetic Determinism," and was also on the Dean's Honor List. She graduated from Loyola in 2003.
Ms. Sperandeo is admitted to the California bar and is also admitted to practice in the United States District Court, Eastern, Central and Southern Districts of California. She is a member of the American Association for Justice (AAJ), the Consumer Attorneys of California (CAOC), and the Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles (CAALA).
