Speckhard, Donald K.

Darrell is a South Dakota native and grew up in Madison and Hartford, South Dakota. He completed undergraduate studies in accounting at the University of South Dakota in 1985 and went on to graduate from the University of South Dakota, School of Law in 1988.

Darrell was admitted to practice law in South Dakota in 1989 and in the state of Iowa in 1995. He is a member of the South Dakota and Iowa State Bar Associations. He is also serves on the South Dakota Bar Business Law Committee and the Municipal Attorney's Association. Darrell's general practice includes, but is not limited to, corporate, business, estate planning, municipal, real estate, wills and probate law.

Darrell has served for a number of years on various boards and belongs to service organizations in the Siouxland area, including the Dakota Valley Business Council, the Siouxland Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, the North Sioux City Lions Club, Two Rivers American Legion and McCook Lake Izaak Walton League. He was also a member of the finance committee at Sacred Heart Church for six years. 

Darrell joined the firm in 1994 and prior to that, served as Director of Loan Origination/Legal Counsel for the South Dakota Governors Office of Economic Development. He currently serves part-time in the Air Force Reserve as a Colonel assigned to South Dakota as an Emergency Preparedness Liaison Officer.   Prior to this Darrell served in the South Dakota Air National Guard for over 26 years, serving 12 years as a Staff Judge Advocate (JAG). Darrell also worked for three years as a tax consultant for Deloitte & Touche in Minneapolis.
