Michael J. Snure is a Florida Bar Board Certified Criminal Trial Lawyer. He is admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court, U.S. Court of Appeals, Eleventh Circuit, U.S. District Court, Middle District of Florida and the Florida and Arkansas state courts. He has practiced law in Winter Park, Florida since 1982. He represents clients on a wide range of matters in his trial practice. He represents clients on matters ranging from traffic charges to first degree murder. He also represents lawyers and members of the judiciary on misconduct allegations. Over the years he has represented doctors and other professionals before the Department of Business and Professional Regulation.
Mr. Snure has prepared many professional seminar materials and by invitation has lectured extensively on many criminal law topics. He has authored a practice manual chapter on DUI cases. For seven years he was the editor of the DUI NOTES column which appears in the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers publication, THE DEFENDER. He is a Founding Member of the National College for DUI Defense and was an invited faculty instructor in the 1996 session presented at Harvard Law School. He is a past editor of the CRIMINAL LAW SECTION column which appeared monthly in the Academy of Florida Trial Lawyers publication THE JOURNAL.
He is a member of the American Bar Association, The Florida Bar, Association of Trial Lawyers of America, National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, Central Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the Orange and Seminole County Bar Associations. He served as President of the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers from 2005-2006.
He is a former member and President of the Seminole County Legal Aid Society, an organization serving the legal needs of the indigent. He is a 1991 graduate of Leadership Orlando and was selected as an Outstanding Young Man of America in 1988. He has been awarded the highest rating for ability and ethics by Martindale-Hubbell. He was designated a leading attorney in criminal law following a statewide survey of Florida lawyers. He has been designated a "Super Lawyer" by Law and Politics in the years 2006 and 2007.
