Following law school, Ms. Smith accepted as a litigation associate at the Las Vegas law firm of Alverson, Taylor, Mortensen, Nelson & Sanders, where she focused on commercial litigation. In 2005, Ms. Smith joined Bullivant Houser Bailey, P.C. where her primary focus was commercial and real estate litigation.

Ms. Smith formally joined Gates, O'Doherty, Gonter & Guy, LLP in October 2007.
