Mary Bridget Smith joined the firm in July 2007. She earned her law degree at Seattle University, and is admitted to both the Oregon State Bar and the Washington State Bar. Before coming to the Springfield area, Mary Bridget worked as an Assistant City Attorney for the City of Yakima, Washington where she focused on local government law and municipal prosecution.
Mary Bridget grew up in the Seattle area and, before practicing law, obtained her Bachelors in Business Administration and United States Coast Guard Third Mate’s License from the California Maritime Academy. After graduation she worked for five years as a navigation officer aboard merchant cargo vessels in the Mediterranean Sea and off the west coast of the United States where she had the opportunity to see the world and learn about the maritime industry.
In her law practice, Mary Bridget aims to deliver thoughtful advice that solves her clients' problems while taking into account the bigger picture. She likes to work collaboratively with clients to make the legal process and principles understandable. She is especially passionate about local government law and solving problems with clients in the areas of employment law. When not working, Mary Bridget enjoys spending time with her family and friends, working in her garden, and spending summers in the mountains camping with her family in their teardrop trailer.
Mary Bridget is a member of Oregon Women Lawyers and Lane County Bar Association. She has volunteered with assisting foster children in Lane County through the Junior League of Eugene and is currently a member of the Springfield Public Library Foundation where she helps raise funds to supply more books, materials and programs for the community of Springfield.
