Andrew L. Smith earned his Juris Doctorate from the Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law in Washington, DC and his Bachelor of Arts degree from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ. While attending law school, Andrew served as an Articles Editor for the CommLaw Conspectus: Journal of Communications Law and Policy and also served as treasurer of the Tax Law Society.

Andrew has extensive experience handling employment and business litigation cases. Prior to joining Pettit Kohn, Andrew successfully represented clients in a wide variety of matters, including employment and labor litigation, civil rights litigation, federal contracts litigation, product liability and general civil matters, on both trial and appellate levels. His primary focus is employment & labor and litigation matters.

Prior to entering law school, Andrew participated in Teach for America in Indianola, MS. He taught 4th and 5th grade students core subjects and helped plan local, state and region-wide efforts to increase community involvement in public education. Andrew is also a musician who plays guitar and sings.
