Attorney April M. Smith attended East Carolina University and earned her Bachelor of Science in Child Life Studies, magna cum laude. She earned her Juris Doctor from Wake Forest University School of Law, where she participated in the University's Elder Law Clinic. Since law school, April has practiced in a private firm, served as an Assistant Attorney General for the North Carolina Department of Justice, represented the Cumberland County Child Support Department. She is actively involved the Cumberland County Bar Association and North Carolina Bar Association - Young Lawyers Division.
