Ms. Pat Huth received her undergraduate degree from Wayland Baptist University in Plainview, Texas. She has worked in the field of developmental disabilities for over 30 years. She first worked with people with developmental disabilities in the California State Developmental Center system in both a teaching and social work capacity.
Her interest in the law during her tenure at Camarillo Developmental Center resulted in her attending law school in 1979. Ms. Huth worked full time and attended law school in the evenings at the Ventura College of Law in Ventura, CA. Graduation occurred in May 1983; she passed the July 1983 California Bar Exam and was admitted to the Bar in August 1983.
Ms. Huth became the Clients' Rights Advocate at Inland Regional Center in 1985 and then became the Director of Advocacy Services at Lanterman Regional Center in 1987. She remained at Lanterman for 13 years in that capacity. The Law Office of Pat Huth opened in 2000 and in 2001 Ms. Huth joined partnership with Ms. Cynthia Beatty and formed Beatty & Huth, LLP. Ms. Beatty married in 2002 and the firm evolved into Waterson & Huth, LLP.
Ms. Huth's primary practice areas of interest include special education law, elder law, and protective proceeding for elders and individuals with disabilities. Provides presentations to parent and service provider groups and extensive consultation to regional centers.
