Slover, Scott

Joel Huotari is an associate in the firm’s Litigation Practice Group.  He joined WilliamsMcCarthy after completing a two-year judicial clerkship with Federal Magistrate Judge P. Michael Mahoney of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. 
 
Joel is an honors graduate of the Northern Illinois University College of Law where he was Editor-in-Chief of the NIU Law Review and a finalist in the 23rd Annual Prize Moot Court Competition. 

While a law student at NIU, Joel also had the privilege of working for the United States Attorney’s Office in Chicago, the Appellate Defender’s Office in Ottawa, and various judges of the Fifteenth Judicial Circuit in Oregon, Illinois. 

Prior to attending law school, Joel graduated with high honors from Elmhurst College and studied abroad at Oxford University.  

Joel is admitted to practice in the United States District Courts for the Northern District of Illinois and the Eastern District of Wisconsin.  Joel is a member of the Winnebago County Bar Association, the Illinois Bar Association, the Seventh Circuit Bar Association and the American Bar Association. 

He currently serves on the Board of Directors for Shelter Care Ministries in Rockford, Illinois.
