Marc Silverstein practices in the real estate and construction areas. In both areas, his practice encompasses a broad range of transactional work and litigation.
Marc's general real estate practice includes all aspects of real estate development, such as land use and zoning, the acquisition and disposal of developed and undeveloped land, commercial foreclosures, commercial leasing, fair housing compliance, and related litigation.
Marc's construction practice includes representation of the various participants in the construction process, which often allows him to use his training in civil engineering. Although his practice more recently has focused on owners and developers, Marc has represented contractors, subcontractors, and material suppliers as well. Marc's construction-related representations have included counseling, contract preparation, claims analysis, mechanics' liens, dispute resolution, and litigation.
Marc has represented clients in many forums, such as state and federal courts, arbitrations, mediations, zoning boards, and city councils.
Marc also devotes substantial time to nonprofit and charitable organizations. He is a life trustee and former board chair of the Siegal College of Judaic Studies, and he is chairman of the Harvard Law School Association of Cleveland. Marc currently is a board member of the Menorah Park Center for Senior Living and the Cleveland Jewish News.
He is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association (Real Property Law Section), the District of Columbia Bar Association, and the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association (Real Estate Section).
