CHRISTINA SILVA concentrates her practice in employment law (representing management and defendants) and litigation, including non-compete litigation and matters involving CEPA whistleblower claims, harassment, discrimination, retaliation, wrongful discharge, breach of contract, restrictive covenants, and claims arising under federal and state discrimination, disability, and family/medical leave laws. She provides employment counseling in areas including the preparation and review of personnel policies; employment handbooks, employment and confidentiality agreements, non-competition clauses, leave provisions, severance and separation agreements, and employee hiring and termination. She also conducts employee training on workplace policies and laws, including anti-harassment / anti-discrimination, complaint mechanisms and investigations. She further conducts investigations into allegations of improper employee conduct and renders recommendations and findings.
She is a member of the NJSBA Labor and Employment and Litigation Sections, a member of the New Jersey Women Lawyers Association, the Hispanic Bar Association, and liaison between the Labor and Employment Section Executive Committee and the Hispanic Bar Association. She is also a member of the Labor and Employment and Litigation Sections of the ABA. She has served as Co-Chair and Vice-Chair of the Labor and Employment Law Committee of the Essex County Bar Association, and has served on the Editorial Board of the NJSBA Labor and Employment Quarterly as an Articles Editor (1995 to present). She is a graduate of the Arthur T. Vanderbilt Inn of Court, and co-authored an article entitled Free Speech In The Workplace (ABA Section of Litigation 1998). She frequently lectures at NJSBA and ICLE programs on harassment and discrimination litigation, training and investigations in the workplace.
She is a former judicial clerk to the Honorable B. Theodore Bozonelis, Superior Court of New Jersey, Law Division, Morris County.
