Adam Hornstine is a senior associate in the firm's Litigation/Controversy and Securities Departments, and a member of the Business Trial Group and the Securities Litigation and Enforcement Practice Group. He joined the firm in 2007.
Practice
Mr. Hornstine’s practice focuses on securities and financial services litigation, complex business disputes and class actions. He has represented corporate and individual clients in a wide range of matters with significant financial implications, including cases that involve allegations of fraud, breach of fiduciary duty, violation of ERISA, unfair and deceptive trade practices, and violation of the False Claims Act.
In 2010, Mr. Hornstine served for six months as a Special Assistant District Attorney for Middlesex County in Massachusetts. During his time as a prosecutor, he argued a number of motions and tried several cases to verdict.
Prior to joining WilmerHale, Mr. Hornstine completed a clerkship with the Honorable Patti B. Saris of the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts.
Recent Highlights
Pro bono representation is also an important part of Mr. Hornstine’s practice. He has represented several veterans in their attempts to obtain disability compensation from the government. Mr. Hornstine also has successfully defended a Boston area community development organization in litigation surrounding the construction of an urban elderly care facility.
Community Involvement
Mr. Hornstine serves as the chair of the Cambridge Conservation Commission, which administers the Massachusetts Wetlands Protection Act on behalf of the City of Cambridge, reviewing, permitting, and inspecting projects in or adjacent to Cambridge’s wetlands, floodplains and water bodies.
