RALPH W. HORNSBY, SR. was born in Tallassee, Elmore County, Alabama, on March 2, 1939. Mr. Hornsby earned a B.A. degree from Samford University in 1961. In 1965, Mr. Hornsby received his law degree from Cumberland School of Law, Samford University. Mr. Hornsby was admitted to the Bar of the State of Alabama in 1965 and is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Northern and Middle Districts of Alabama as well as the U.S. Court of Appeals, 11th Circuit.
Mr. Hornsby practices in the areas of workers' compensation, personal injury, products liability, nursing home neglect and abuse, and wrongful death. He has participated in hundreds of jury and non-jury trials. He served as President of the Alabama Trial Lawyers Association from 1983-1984. He is a member of the Alabama State Bar Association, the Huntsville-Madison County Bar Association, the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, and has served on the Executive Committee of the Alabama Trial Lawyers Association since 1975. He is a member of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America and served on its Board of Governors from 1984-1985. Mr. Hornsby currently serves as a Master of the Bench in the Madison County American Inns of Court.
