David R. Shraga is an associate in Dreier Stein & Kahan LLP's Entertainment & Media Department. His practice focuses on entertainment litigation, particularly intellectual property, business torts, and contract claims for clients in the entertainment industry, including actors, writers, producers, directors, and musicians.

Representative matters include disputes involving publicity rights, restraining orders against celebrity stalkers, copyright infringement, idea theft, defamation, production and distribution of films, royalties, profit participation, trademark infringement, and domain names (cybersquatting).

David also has extensive experience representing clients in a variety of complex commercial disputes (including matters involving unfair competition, trade secrets, and patent infringement). He has experience representing a diverse clientele in numerous settings, including federal and state courts, arbitrations (including arbitrations before the World Intellectual Property Association), mediations, proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board, and proceedings before the California Labor Commissioner. David's transactional practice includes representation of businesses and individuals in connection with the negotiation of a variety of agreements involving licensing, employment and consulting, and other general corporate matters.

David graduated from Yale University in 1996 with a B.A. in Political Science. While at Yale, he was awarded a Yale University School of Medicine Student Research Fellowship for his research in the Section of Rheumatology. David continued his post-graduate research in the Department of Microbiology and Molecular Genetics at the University of California, Irvine School of Medicine. He received his J.D. from USC in 2003. During law school, David was an extern for Hon. Dean D. Pregerson, Judge of the United States District Court for the Central District of California, and a member of the Southern California Law Review.

David is a member of the Los Angeles County Bar Association and the Association of Business Trial Lawyers. He is a Chair of the Planning Committee for Bet Tzedek's "Justice Ball," an annual fundraising event for pro bono legal services, and has also served as Chair of the Fundraising Committee of the Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles' Associates Advisory Board. David is also a member of the Yale Alumni Schools Committee.
