Elie's practice involves mergers and acquisitions, private equity, joint ventures, and capital markets transactions in the United States and Latin America.

Prior to joining Jones Day in 2008, Elie was at the New York office of Weil, Gotshal & Manges, where he was a member of that firm's corporate practice and worked on a variety of capital markets and cross-border M&A transactions. Before relocating to the U.S., Elie practiced law in Brazil, where he represented Brazil's leading financial institutions and was concurrently a member of the board of directors of several public Brazilian companies.

Elie is a member of the bars in New York and Brazil (Rio de Janeiro section). His native language is Portuguese, and he is fluent in English and Spanish, proficient in French, and has limited knowledge of Hebrew.
