Tom Sheran has over 25 years of experience in the field of business and commercial litigation. He is a Civil Trial Specialist, certified by the Minnesota State Bar Association. Before entering private practice, he served as a trial attorney in the United States Department of Justice and as a law clerk in the United States District Court for the District of Minnesota.
Mr. Sheran has extensive experience with complex commercial litigation including civil and criminal antitrust law and intellectual property disputes involving copyright, trademark and unfair competition. In 2002, he received a Masters in Software Systems degree from the University of St. Thomas. He has served on the adjunct faculty of Hamline University School of Law teaching antitrust, intellectual property and internet law. He currently teaches a course on the legal aspects of managing technology to students at the University of St. Thomas Graduate Program in Software Engineering. Because of his background and experience, Mr. Sheran is able to combine proficiency in information technology with technical legal knowledge in order to provide the highest level of comprehensive service.
Mr. Sheran seeks to provide innovative, practical and thorough advice to his clients, whether litigating a complex case or making preventative recommendations in an effort to avoid future litigation. His clients include banks, software and computer companies, private operating foundations, industrial manufacturers and many others, both large and small.
Mr. Sheran is a member of the Minnesota State Bar Association, the Federal Bar Association, and the Litigation, Business Law, Antitrust and Intellectual Property Sections of the American Bar Association.
